How should I turn in Box Tops?
Turning in your Box Tops to the PTO is very easy!!
Helpful Hints:
- Neatly clip the Box Top from the package.
- Place Box Tops in a baggie/envelope or use a Collection Sheet
- Write NAME and ROOM NUMBER on baggie/envelope or collection sheet. If in an envelope, please mark it PTO-BOX TOPS
- Send into school with your child!!

- Do NOT put any type of BONUS BOX TOPS on collection sheets. General Mills will not accept any Bonus Box Tops that are attached to collection sheets and it makes a lot more work for the volunteers that count and ship the Box Tops.
- Volunteers have to trim the Box Tops and package them in baggies of 50 to submit them to General Mills for PTO credit. If you can trim the Box Tops neatly and put them in groups of 50 that would help the people who count and submit them very much!!!
- Do not send in expired Box Tops
- Please only put Box Tops in envelope/baggie. You should send in Campbell's labels, Tyson labels, and Shop N Save receipts to school in separate envelopes.
Do you accept expired Box Tops?
No. BTFE will not accept them so if you send them into school we have to throw them away. Please try to send them into school before they expire!!
If you find some that are close to the expiration date, please send them into school with a note explaining they are close to expiring. I can mail them into BTFE immediately so we can get credit for them.

Do I have to use the collection sheets?
No. You can just send them into school in a baggie envelope with your child's name and room number on them. The collection sheets are fun for the kids and a great way to get them involved.
The only exception to this rule is if the school is having a specific contest where you have to use collection sheets. There are none planned for 2011.

What does the PTO receive from Box Tops?
COLD HARD CASH!!! We get 10 cents for each Box Top we turn in to General Mills. We send in Box Tops on March 1st, June 1st, and November 1st of each year. The PTO receives a check in mid-December and in mid-April of each year. Last year we receive over $2000!!!
